IMG/WME and MUO To Implement New MISS UNIVERSE Rule!

Last August, WME/ IMG, the new owners of Miss Universe Organization have increased the required age limit from 26 to 28 years old.

Now,  the new administration unveiled a new rule to take effect immediately on the upcoming edition of Miss Universe.

No Simultaneous National Winners! A new national pageant winner shall not be crowned until the reigning queen has competed in Miss Universe.

Among the candidates whom  will be affected by the new rule are the national pageant winners from Venezuela, Colombia and Puerto Rico.
Miss Universe franchisers from these countries selected their representatives almost 1 and half year ahead prior to the Miss Universe pageant for intensive trainings and enhancement surgeries.

Senorita Colombia (Miss Colombia Pageant) has already postponed their finals and will resume after Miss Universe 2016 on January 30, 2017 in the Philippines.

But if the new MUO rule will be implemented, newly crowned Miss Venezuela 2016 Keysi Sayago shall represent Venezuela in the upcoming Miss Universe pageant in Manila and not 2015 Miss Venezuela Mariam Habach.
